American Idol Season 12 Won By Candice Glover

American Idol Season 12American Idol celebrated the close of season 12 on Fox last night. The series came to an end with Candice Glover the victor of the competition. Glover won the Idol crown after a tense Wednesday night sing off against finalist Kree Harrison.

The ladies performed three songs each with judges Randy, Nicki, Mariah and Keith hard-pressed to predict a winner.
Jackson urged fans to vote for one of the two while Keith called both Harrison and Glover both “soul singers.” At the start of the Wednesday night episode Candice was chosen to sing “Chasing Pavements” by artist Adele. The show’s producer Simon Fuller selected the song for Glover and she tackled it with confidence. Judge Randy Jackson didn’t care much for Fuller’s chosen track, but was impressed by Glover’s performance. Continue reading

Janelle Arthur Says Goodbye To American Idol Season 12, Odds Say Amber Holcomb Next Out

American Idol Season 12American Idol’s Janelle Arthur is no longer a finalist in the Fox competition. Arthur was voted out of the competition last night after the singer’s Wednesday night performance just wasn’t enough to keep her in the race as the season comes to a close.

During Wednesday night’s show, Arthur took part in the Idol themed competition that had each of the ladies singing songs from the year of their birth. Arthur, who was born in 1989, chose to sing Vince Gill’s “When I Call Your Name,” with the country singer saying that the well known track always made her stop crying. Continue reading

American Idol Season 12 Down To Final Six After Elimination Of Burnell Taylor

American Idol Season 12It continues to be an unlucky year for the men of American Idol. Down to the final six singers, Burnell Taylor was voted off during last night’s results show. During Wednesday nights episode Taylor did little to extend his stay when he stiffly sang Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name” in lieu of rock n’ roll week.

The singer was obviously out of his comfort zone and it showed. Judge Keith Urban called it by telling Burnell that rock ‘n roll was not his thing. Randy was also right on with his comments about Taylor “being behind the beat.” Jimmy Lovine’s comments were hilarious. “He was so behind the music. American Idol Judge Jennifer Lopez Engagement Odds Formed

The rumor mill still continues to churn in regards to a possible engagement between the recently divorced Jennifer Lopez and her dancer and choreographer Casper Smart. Addressing the media’s speculations once again, Lopez told Matt Lauer of Today just recently that she isn’t sure about the possibility of marrying Smart. “I don’t know… we’ll see. After an exciting season 11 of American Idol now over, with Phillip Phillips declared the winner, many are looking forward to a new year of hilarious auditions, talented new stars, and the possibility of fresh blood since singer Jennifer Lopez could possibly leave the show.

Even Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler seems to be wearing on viewer’s nerves with his feedback towards the singers, but that could change. Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly has picked up on the plight of Idol since this year’s performance finale ratings were down 25%, and is said to be looking to implement “some creative tweaking,” for the twelfth season, it was announced. “It’s a mature show,” Reilly also added, “and that happens with mature shows. In an unsurprising win Georgia singer Phillip Phillips conquered all last night, becoming the eleventh season American Idol winner during an emotional live finale that showcased the results and several seasoned artists all on board to celebrate. Although it doesn’t come as a shock that Phillips prevailed after leading in the American Idol betting odds with a line paying out at 4/13, there was still a chance for Jessica Sanchez (5/2) to turn her fate around.
