So You Think You Can Dance Latest Results As Season 9 Continues

The ninth season of the dance competition series So You Think You Can Dance has kicked of its ninth season with try outs held in Las Vegas. The show that is hosted by Cat Deely with judges Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, Tyce DiOrio, Lil’ C, Debbie Allen and Adam Shankman, begin picking and choosing dancers with the most potential out of a pool of 180 or so contestants that received a callback.

As expected, most of the contestants didn’t make it through the first round, with a total of fifty-one dancers being cut after failing to impress the judges with their own solo dance. From there on the remaining one hundred and thirty hopefuls were put through to round 2 where they had to learn a hip hop dance choreographed by both Twitch and Comfort of So You Think You Can Dance.

Finally calling it a day after 2 rounds, the remainder of the dancers where able to take a break until the next day with grueling tryouts set to continue in the morning. By the end of the week the dancers where told they needed to make groups of five or six people and create their own routines. Let the drama begin.

The rest of the Vegas trip included not only dancing but fighting, screaming, ballroom numbers, contemporary routine, and more. With the series starting out with 180 dancers a few days in sin city proved to be brutal as well as the judges who made cuts all the way down to thirty-five remaining dancers. Fans won’t be able to discover who has made it into the finals until next week when SYTYCD will reveal the twenty dancers that will stay. Talk about a rough week with some insane dance routines.

After watching some of the best that included standouts like Alexa and ballet dancer Chehon Wespi-Tschopp, this new season should make for an exciting one. There are some excellent dancers and those they seem to have potential.
