Listen, I have nothing against Hollie Cavanaugh, but Christ that took a long time to get her off the show. I think she’s fine. Good singer. But she wasn’t going to win the show and I’m amazed how long she lasted. She had a “George Castanza’s parents” vibe, where unusual circumstances kept her lingering around for longer than needed.

American Idol hopefuls Hollie Cavanagh and Elise Testone escaped by the skin of their teeth last week, avoiding elimination on Thursday night.
Jennifer Lopez’s mini crush DeAndre Brakensick was the sacraficial lamb despite having a more-consistent show althogether than Cavanah and Testone. Voters seem to be turning on Testone after a rough performance last week. Alas, she survived, but that did nothing for her (or Cavanagh’s) odds to win the entire show as both remain at the basement of American Idol Betting Odds. Continue reading
This year’s American Idol has started to show signs of the fatigue from fans that comes with running a show this long. Ratings have dipped, even though the judges are still popular among viewers. The favorite to win this year, scruffy guitarman Phillip Phillips, is getting 7/2 odds to win American Idol, the recording contract and chance of a lifetime (that 10 others have won also) by bovada.com. The man proclaimed by J. Lo to be “blessed by god”, Jeremy Rosario, is sitting completely opposite at the bottom with 30/1. Continue reading
