The 14th season of Dancing With the Stars has been as exciting and interesting as any season in recent memory. With three weeks in the books, it’s safe to say that the fat has officially been somewhat trimmed now that we have had our first elimination of the process. While Martina Navratilova and Tony Dovolani put up an undeniably valiant effort, their consistently low scores (particularly in week two when they hit rock bottom) meant that they simply couldn’t be kept around. 
When the Dancing with the Stars contestant list is finally decided, it almost seems a guarantee that it will include a football player. The long list of Emmitt Smith, Jason Taylor, Ocho, Warren Sapp, Hines Ward, Jerry Rice, and Kurt Warner just got a little longer with Donald Driver joining the cast. Driver is the old reliable receiver on the Green Bay Packers that has the longest tooth on the team. Even with the experience of a career built on great footwork, his odds of making a smooth transition to dance are predicting he’s no Emmitt Smith. There are so many talent/singing competition shows on television these days it makes me want to read books. Every time I watch a TV show on Fox, I see an advertisement 8 times about “American Idol” and with NBC it’s the same story but with the “The Voice”. I mean, it’s really great you are trying to find the best singer in the world and all, but shows have already searched and found them like 22 times. So now when people win I just think “Oh, you’re the 23rd best person to be picked”. With female artist Melania Amaro winning last year, will it be another woman that repeats? Bovada.com has the

Besides being a bonafide ratings monster for ABC, Dancing With The Stars has also become something of a cultural phenomenon over the last few years. Since the show’s inception in 2005, its seemingly simple premise of pairing up a celebrity with a professional dancer and watching said celebrity develop as a dancer has become an undeniable television mainstay.
